If, after considering the evidence, the judge believes that marriage breakdown is established, the judge grants a preliminary order called a divorce judgment. The parties can only remarry once the divorce becomes final.
To obtain a divorce judgment, you must apply to the Court in the district where you and/or your spouse reside.
A divorce takes effect 30 days after the judge issues the divorce judgment.
After this period, The Court issues the divorce certificates in 2 copies. The divorce certificate is a document that confirms the divorce finalization and its effective date.
